此劇固名思義是圍繞著Claire Foy飾演主角英女皇伊莉莎伯二世的故事，同場還有Matt Smith (Hello,第十一任Doctor)飾演菲臘親王, Victoria Hamilton, Jared Harris同John Lithgow....本人素來也喜歡追看西方古今宮廷劇, 今次睇預告片見到劇中的年輕事頭婆拋低一句“but for better or worse the Crown has landed on my head.”
